The Beaconsfield Anzac Memorial Service was first held in 1999. Since then a Memorial Service has been held each year on the Sunday before Anzac Day. Last year 2020, we had to cancel the service for the first time due to the Covid pandemic and the Covid restrictions in place at the time. However we were able to fly our flags at the Cenotaph and lay wreaths to mark the occasion.
Beaconsfield has a history of dedicated war service. There are several memorials in the town remembering the soldiers and they are all documented on this website:
- The Beaconsfield Avenue of Honour
- The Honour Board
- The Cenotaph
- The Digital Memorial
- Beaconsfield Park
Update
This year 2021, following advice from the Government and Cardinia Shire Council, we are conducting essentially our normal ANZAC service. The Service will be at the Cenotaph on the corner of Woods Street and old Princes Highway on Sunday 18th April, with the March commencing at 1.50pm and the Service starting at 2pm.
A COVID public gathering requirement is that all people attending the event must register their name with the BPA, via email, before attending the event.
Please send the names of the people attending to secretary@beaconsfield.org.au
