Beaconsfield Dental has numerous environmental initiatives in place. These include 144 solar panels, an indigenous and native garden, 17,000 litres for toilet flush and irrigation, as well as other measures to reduce our environmental impact. Apart from the usual recycling of items in the blue bins, further measures are implemented to reduce waste. This includes 14 compost bins that are used for garden waste, shredded paper and sterilization pouch paper. The kitchen has a small compost bin for food scraps, coffee grounds and other compostable items which are transferred to the compost bins. Beaconsfield Dental also has a trial compost bin to test the compostability of certain items such as latex gloves and other dental materials that claim to be compostable.
In addition, regular trips are made to waste transfer stations and other facilities that accept items such as electrical items, printer cartridges and batteries. Beaconsfield Dental has receptacles for items such as batteries for collection and recycling. Beaconsfield Dental – Caring for the Community and the Environment.
