As part of Stage 2 of the Monash Freeway Upgrade, O’Shea Road is being extended to join the Beaconsfield interchange, and as of May 31st the inbound exit and outbound entry ramps to the Monash Freeway are now open.
New lanes are being added to the Beaconsfield interchange overpass, widening it from 3 lanes to 10 lanes to reduce congestion and improve connections to the Princes Freeway.
The work to extend O’Shea Road to join the Beaconsfield interchange continues with an expected completion at the end of 2022, and will include a shared walking and cycling path along O’Shea Road between Clyde Road, Berwick and the Princes Highway, Beaconsfield.
