Beaconsfield Banner Winter 2020 Digital Memorial On The Website

This year the BPA were unable to hold our Anzac Memorial Service this year due to restrictions caused by COVID –19.

We were able to fly the flags and lay some wreaths on Anzac Day.

The BPA has a Digital Memorial Touchscreen at the Community Complex, opened in August 2018. The Digital Memorial remembers men and women from Beaconsfield who served in the armed forces during World War One.   We plan to add information about Servicemen and women from Beaconsfield who served in World War Two later this year.

Our webmaster has spent the past few weeks, making a new file of the Digital Memorial to put on the BPA website. https://www.beaconsfield.org.au/digitalmemorial.

This is really exciting because there is some really interesting and important information on the Digital Memorial and previously it could only be accessed on the touchscreen at the Community Complex. Now it can be accessed at any time by anyone through the website.  It is not only easy to access on PCs but it can be accessed on handheld devices, like tablets and phones.

The Digital Memorial has 110 pages and the website now has a total of 500 pages.  We are very grateful to Barry for making this possible in lieu of our Anzac Memorial Service 2020.

BPA is a voluntary organisation representing the interests of residents and businesses of Beaconsfield, liaising with Cardinia Shire Council, Commonwealth and State Governments and Non-Government bodies in regard to planning & community issues, events and amenities for Beaconsfield.
