Beaconsfield Banner Winter 2020 BPA President’s Report

Welcome to this edition of the Beaconsfield Banner. I trust that you are successfully navigating your way through these uncertain times with the Covid-19 pandemic. With sporting clubs and other organisations mostly in recess or operating on a very limited basis, not all the usual articles are available. However, we want to continue producing the Banner hence this Winter Edition has been produced, but with less content. Hopefully the Covid-19 situation will continue to improve and the Spring Edition of the Banner will be a bumper Edition. The Banner is available on our BPA Website. www.beaconsfield.org.au and printed copies are available from a number of local businesses including the Beaconsfield Post Office.

Unfortunately, the Anzac Memorial Service due to be held on 19 April had to be cancelled. On Anzac Day, our Association laid wreaths at the Cenotaph and Avenue of Honour Plaques. The Australian and New Zealand Flags were flown. On social media it was good to see that many residents observed Anzac Day at 6am from their front gates. Prior to Anzac Day, the contents of the Digital Memorial which is located at the Beaconsfield Community Complex were loaded onto the BPA Website and also onto the BPA Facebook page. The Digital Memorial  can be accessed on your computer and mobile phone.

During this difficult Covid-19 pandemic period, it is pleasing to hear about the resilience and community spirit of Beaconsfield residents that makes our town a great place to live.

At present, we are unable to have monthly meetings however when these restrictions are lifted in the future, we will publicise on our Website, Facebook and Notices in business premises.
