As we move forward into the summer festive season, there are many things to be thankful for as part of the vibrant community that we live in. We do know however, that amongst the wonderful thriving people and environment landscape of social organisations, clubs, schools and businesses there are people who will do it tough this season with the cost of living impacting some in our community.
During this time, is when the spirit of our community shines and we can connect with those who may feel a bit lonely and unsure of reaching out. I ask that we continue to look out for each other and check in as to whether our neighbours are ok and, in the lead up to Christmas that there are no empty seats at our festive tables.
As a follow up to the Beaconsfield Railway Crossing removal project, we have worked tirelessly with members of the community to ensure transparent and effective communication with government. Community members are now working on securing a Community Reference Group (CLG) and we have been informed that the government does not believe a CLG is warranted, scan the QR code to access my speech given in parliament on how I am addressing this issue.
There have been many concerns raised to me about the deteriorating conditions of our roads, with the many potholes around our area in need of repair. Please take care and drive safe, as I continue to raise this issue with government.
