Beaconsfield Banner Spring 2023 – Member for Berwick

Sports season continues to see many clubs and teams in the midst of finals, with training commencing for many of the other sports leading into the spring/summer season. The hype of activity and social connection during this time is wonderful to see as a way we can support our local clubs and organisations.

As an introduction to a sport that we have not heard too much about, Beaconsfield Tennis Club would like to know if there is anyone who has an interest in playing Pickleball. Please head to the survey on my website www.bradbattin.com.au to register your interest.

With the railway crossing removal project well underway, the Beaconsfield Railway Station is the latest to feel the impact with the closure of 360 car park spaces. Millions of dollars were spent to recently upgrade the car park, now to have it closed is disappointing. I also worked with the local community to help save the Railway House and the Bunya Bunya pine tree, which has seen the Railway House partially saved along with the Bunya Bunya pine tree. There were many attempts made to the government to obtain detailed traffic reports and to date, the government have kept these hidden.

I still do not have a permanent office in the Berwick electorate and parliament services assures me that we will have a temporary office in the not-too-distant future.

In the meantime, I will be supporting our local coffee shops and markets, please keep an eye on my socials for details of when and where I will be. Please feel free to come and have a chat about the important issues in our community.

If you would like to share your thoughts or any concerns with me, please feel free to contact me on 5953 0216 or brad.battin@parliament.vic.gov.au.
