Recently the group has been able to support groups that support others by providing some funding and items to the Bless Collective food van that provides friendship and meals to the homeless and needy at Burke Park, Pakenham two nights per week. Make and Mingle have also supported the flood victims in Townsville, and Samaritan’s Purse which send boxes of useful items to children overseas.
Donations have also been made to the Children’s Hospital Activity Packs provided by Beaconsfield Baptist Church for our local hospitals to encourage children who need to spend time in hospital. These packs include pencils, colouring books, stickers and other items.
Each week lots of craft items are made at Make and Mingle including knitted hats and beanies, socks baby clothes and toys. Everyone enjoys making greeting cards and there is a range of different ones using die cuts, embossing, stamping and other techniques. Some people have even started making Christmas cards. Patchwork quilts, carry bags and embroidery are also popular.
You are always welcome to come along for friendship and craft and a cuppa any Wednesday during school term 10-12 noon at Beaconsfield Baptist Church, 7 Desmond Court.
