Beaconsfield Banner Autumn 2025 – Federal Election 2025 Candidates

Firstly, I’d like to thank all the residents of La Trobe who chose me to be their voice in Federal Parliament. My slogan, “Promises Made, Promises Delivered,” is more than just a phrase – it’s a commitment I stand by. Every day, I work with the community to secure vital upgrades and ensure they’re delivered. From major upgrades to the M1 and the Beaconsfield Interchange, to improving dangerous intersections along the Princes Highway and upgrading lighting at Beaconsfield Rec Reserve, we’re making a real difference. We’re also enhancing local sports grounds, such as the Upper Beaconsfield Cricket Club, supporting our youth with funding support for the Beaconsfield Officer Scouts and much more.

Our community is growing, and with it, the demand for better roads and local infrastructure. We need a strong, trusted voice to continue both the advocacy and delivery of these essential projects.

That’s why I’m standing again – to fight and deliver for La Trobe.

I know many are struggling with the cost-of-living crisis, which is why the Liberals are committed to cutting the fuel excise in half, reducing prices by 25 cents per litre – that’s about $14 per tank.

Along with this, we’ll deliver:
• Cheaper medicines – reducing the price to $25.
• Cheaper energy – by unlocking natural gas.
• More affordable homes – unlocking 500,000 new homes.
• Restoring the dream of home ownership –balancing migration and supporting first-home buyers.

I encourage all residents to read our plan at liberal.org.au/our-plan

Thank you once again,
Jason Wood MP
Federal Member for La Trobe.

A lifelong resident of La Trobe and passionate advocate for my community. I have spent four decades witnessing firsthand our region’s vast growth and transformation. With a deep commitment to public service, I’ve had the honour and privilege of serving as Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and local Councillor. These roles have allowed me to engage with the diverse townships and communities across our region, building a strong understanding of our unique needs and aspirations.

The Albanese Government has been working hard during their first term of Government. Delivering the first budget surplus (x2) in 15 years while simultaneously providing tax cuts for all Australians. Investing in a better future for us all by bolstering our healthcare and education systems, combating inflation and the cost of living.

For these reasons I have stepped up to support the Albanese Government and stand for La Trobe. Federal Labor is the only choice for a Government that will see us safely through these difficult times of continuing global uncertainty.

I believe in unity over division. I am committed to bringing people together, focusing on the common goals that unite the community rather than the forces that seek to fragment it. I’m standing for a new era of leadership, moving beyond the divisive politics of the past to build a future founded on collaboration and shared purpose.

Respectfully seeking the support of our community to be the political change that we need.

My vision is clear—to foster prosperity, opportunity, and a brighter future for all Australians.

Jeff Springfield
Labor party candidate for the Federal seat of La Trobe.
