A respite care service in Beaconsfield within a host family on a farm.

At Brookfield we are still enjoying the hot weather with lots of days in the pool and barbecues. Our art workshops have all been outdoors and lots of time spent with the animals in the sunshine.
Our baby goats have been lots of fun with bottle feeding and trying to keep them out of the house!! We also have several new guinea pigs, each of which belongs to girls in the after-school program.
Our new programs include a school holiday and after school program with favourite activities being cooking, art and craft, animal care and the pool.
We also plan to launch an after-hours program for adults from 3pm to 6pm or flexible hours including holiday breaks. This program will have a focus on social skills, independence, friendships and most importantly having lots of fun.

In February we planned a free carers day at the farm. We had so many responses we ended up running two days! We met so many lovely people from a wide range of cultures and had two wonderful days exploring new art experiences with our art teacher Allison and sharing food and stories.
In recent months we have had two participants move on from living at home to supported independent living. We enjoy using our wide experience to work with allied health teams, families and support coordinators to prepare individual participants to move out of home. Brookfield is a stepping stone to independence for many participants.
We love to welcome new visitors to the farm and are happy to host group events or just a visit to see what we do.
