Rohan Treasure and his team at Mitre 10 Beaconsfield have been supporting Beaconsfield Community in many ways over the years. They are now very active in ensuring that recycling is made easy and done correctly in Cardinia Shire.
VICTORIAN GOVERNMENT CONTAINER DEPOSIT SCHEME. The collection machine for Beaconsfield is located in the carpark of Mitre 10. Bring along your eligible bottles and cans each for a 10 cents refund. You can either keep your refund or support your favourite charity or community organisation with a donation or you can request a voucher to be redeemed at participating local stores. Download the VGCDS and make your selection. There are a number of local sporting groups or community groups you can choose to support in this area.
E-WASTE. They have a Cardinia Shire E-Waste container inside the store. E waste is any item that has a battery, cord or plug and is at the end of its useful life. E waste is banned from Victorian landfill, so it cannot be put into any household garbage bins. So, take along used batteries and small electrical items to recycle and place in the labelled container within the store.
PLASTIC PLANT POT & LABELS. PP5 recycling service for plant pots and labels with the PP5 recycle label on them. The pots can be left in a large basket in the carpark near the entrance to the store. BEACONSFIELD DENTAL also have recycling of used dental products such as empty toothpaste tubes, used toothbrushes and even the product packaging can be recycled with the funds supporting Beaconsfield Primary School.
