The Beaconsfield Anzac Memorial Service first held in 1999, is always held on the Sunday before ANZAC Day. This year the service will be held on Sunday 21 April at the Beaconsfield War Memorial on the corner of Woods Street and Old Princes Hwy. There will be a march, for all those who would like to participate, leaving at 1.50pm from the fire station in Woods Street. The Service commences at 2pm at the War Memorial.
Members of the community are invited to come to the War Memorial and seating will be provided.
The usual program of National Anthem, Choir and Recorder Ensemble, Memorial Address, Soldiers’ Roll, Flag Raising and Wreath laying will be followed. Please join us as we remember and honour Servicemen from all conflicts. This special tribute is organised by Beaconsfield Progress Association and supported by Cardinia Shire. Afternoon tea will be provided after the service.
Beaconsfield has a history of dedicated war service. The website www.beaconsfield.org.au has information about the Beaconsfield Avenue of Honour and all their WWI Servicemen, the Honour Board and the Beaconsfield War Memorial. Beaconsfield’s Digital Memorial can now be accessed from the website and provides information about the two World Wars, the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne and Beaconsfield Soldiers.
