Beaconsfield Banner Autumn 2022 – Beaconsfield Tennis Club

As we enter the final month of Summer, you would have noticed a hive of activity at the Beaconsfield Tennis Club. After the completion of the Beaconsfield Junior Tennis Tournament mid-Jan, Open day was held on January 22nd, and then Sunday Funday the week later, on the last Sunday of the month.

Yes, we still have restrictions in place, whether it be the QR check-in, clubhouse limitations (toilet access only upon request) and social distancing requirements, however, the coaching team and committee are trying their best to ensure you enjoy your tennis and that your inconvenience is minimal.  For more information on the Covid-19 requirements, please refer to the club website, www.beaconsfieldtennisinc.com.

Annual General Meeting

The AGM was held at the clubrooms on December 6th 2021. The following positions were filled.

  • Assistant Treasurer: Barry Fletcher

Beaconsfield Tennis Tournament

The annual Beaconsfield junior tournament was conducted on January 12th and 13th with 55 entrants competing in singles and doubles events. Players came from as far away as Phillip Island, Gippsland and Glen Waverley to compete. Congratulations to the A grade winner, Beaconsfield TC member, Noah Dorling who defeated his club mate Lachie Pitman in a high standard final.

Beaconsfield Open Day

On Saturday January the 22nd the Beaconsfield TC held our annual Open Day. The club provided FREE Hotshots coaching, Cardio tennis, BBQ, drinks, ice-poles and professional face-painting. Over 60 locals enjoyed the various activities on and off the tennis courts. Thank you to the club volunteers and coaches for making the day a huge success as we had all 9 courts in action throughout the event.

Congratulations to Lisa Hill who won the door-prize raffle.

Beaconsfield Sunday Funday

On the last Sunday of each month, over Spring, Summer and Autumn, Beaconsfield Tennis Club holds a Funday from 3pm-7.30pm. Tennis equipment is available for free use for those families wanting to try the game and free egg and bacon rolls, cupcakes from The Cake Stop, as well as free Zooper Doopers and drinks for those who need re-hydrating. January Funday was a huge success, with families occupying the courts until late in the evening. You don’t need to be a member to attend. Just put on those runners and come down to say hello. This event is proudly supported by the Cardinia Park Hotel community support fund.

Mid-week Social Tennis

Beaconsfield Tennis club have 3 mid-week social competitions that are available for both members and non-members. The Beaconsfield/Officer Hardhitters competition runs on Monday nights at 7.30pm for experienced players. Beaconsfield/Officer Wednesday Social Tennis operates on Wednesday nights from 7.30pm and Men’s Social Tennis runs on Thursday nights from 7.30pm. All of these competitions’ welcome new players. Just head down to the courts and talk to our committee on the night or visit the www.beaconsfieldtennisclubinc.com website for more information.

New BTC Merchandise

For those looking for new playing outfits or something to keep you warm as the colder mornings approach, Beaconsfield Tennis club merchandise days are being help at the club during Feb – May. Refer to the Facebook page: Beaconsfield Tennis Club Community to see the days and times. If you are unable to attend the merchandise days, go to www.beaconsfieldtennisclubinc.com and download the merchandise form and follow the instructions.

Membership year

The financial membership year runs from 1st September to 31st August. Pro-rata fees are available to new members only. Go to www.beaconsfieldtennisinc.com to obtain a membership form and payment details.

Casual Court Hire

$10 per court (per hour)

Court hire is available at the Beacy Flake Fish & Chips shop. Beaconsfield Shopping Plaza, Shop 2, 55 Old Princes Highway, Beaconsfield. A court key will be issued when a deposit of $20 is paid and will be refunded on return of the key on the same day. The synthetic grass courts are available for hire only when not in use. Competitions and coaching take precedence.
