Beaconsfield Banner Autumn 2023 – Beaconsfield Football Club

2023 Action on the footy field is about to hot up for Beaconsfield Football Club with practice matches arranged for Sat. 11th March (vs Mornington) & Sat 18th March (vs Noble Park). Both will be held at Holm Park with canteen and Can Bar in operation.  Numbers have been excellent at training and with some new recruits, along with returning talented players and lots of Junior taking the step up to Senior level, the expectations are high for a good year of football for all our teams –  Seniors, Development, U/19’s and Women’s.

The season commences for our men’s teams on Sat 1st April with an away match at Mitcham where the Seniors will be a twilight fixture commencing at 4.30pm. Our first home game is on Sat 15th April vs Bayswater.

Membership tickets are now available and a great way to support the club and enjoy Saturdays at our great facilities at Holm Park Reserve. $80 Single or $120 Family memberships and available at the ground on training nights or contact Geoff McGowan (0410 446 988) or Mark Hornstra (0418 330 083).

Our club and local community lost a true icon with the recent death of our esteemed life member, Gerald Treasure aged 90. Gerald had been involved with our club since the 1970’s and also made a massive contribution to our town through various activities that he was involved with such as the Beaconsfield Community Bank, his Beaconsfield Timber and Hardware business, Rotary and St John of God Hospital. Gerald’s standing in the community was reflected by the many tributes paid to him on his passing.

On Sunday 26th March the football club will be holding its major fundraising event, the Annual 10K draw. This great day has been going for nearly 35 years and at $130 a ticket, which provides Lunch and drinks for 2 people, is a good way to catch up with other locals before the season commences the following week. Contact Lawrie Canning (0437 285 795) for tickets and any inquiries.

Any local business wanting to be involved in one of our biggest local community activities through sponsorship or awards can contact our Sponsorship team Scott Hilton – (0455  963 179) or Geoff McGowan (0410 446 988).

You can keep up with all the Beacy footy news on our Facebook page and we would encourage you all to get involved with your community club in 2023 whether its with the Juniors or Seniors, but it is great place to form life long connections and friendships.
