It has been a busy start to 2023, and unfortunately, I still do not have an update for you all on my new office location with Parliament still working on finding me a new home. I want to assure you all I am busy meeting with locals at our local cafes and community organisations addressing concerns many of you are having locally.
Firstly, I wanted to give you a quick update on the Beaconsfield Railway House, I have and continue to communicate with the current owners of the home and residents on the matter. I am currently awaiting responses from the Minister for Public Transport on questions I asked around the level crossing removal and will be sure to update the community as soon as I get more information. It is important the state government listen to the community on this matter.
I am also raising with Council the concerns from many locals on the speed and dangerous traffic behaviour on Woods Street. Many have expressed the number of accidents in the area have increased in recent months. I hope Cardinia Shire Council undertake a review of the street and make appropriate actions where needed.
I know grass maintenance in the town is also a continuing concern and one I am still discussing with Council and the state government in ensuring Beaconsfield is looking its best.
On a wider scale, I know the increase in cost of living is placing pressure on many families and will continue to as we head further into 2023. We have many wonderful community organisations and support services out there to assist you if you need assistance.
I may not have a physical office in the electorate of Berwick but I am as accessible as ever. Please do not hesitate to call my office on 5953 0216, email me via brad.battin@parliament.vic.gov.au or direct message me on Facebook or Instagram. If you see me around at one of our many local cafes, please come and say hi and raise any issues you would like me to address on your behalf.

Liberal State Member for Berwick
