The Beaconsfield Anzac Memorial Service first held in 1999 is always held on the Sunday before Anzac Day. This year the Beaconsfield Anzac Memorial Service will be held on Sunday 24 April at the Cenotaph in Beaconsfield Corner of Woods Street and Old Princes Highway There will be a March from the fire station in Woods Street leaving at 1.50pm and the Service commences at 2pm at the Cenotaph.
Members of the community are welcome to join us on the Cenotaph area and chairs will be provided. The usual program of National Anthem, a choir, memorial address, soldiers roll, flag raising, and wreath laying will be followed. Please join us as we remember and honour servicemen and women from all conflicts. This will be a covid safe event supported by Cardinia Shire and organized by Beaconsfield Progress Association.
Beaconsfield has a history of dedicated war service. The website www.beaconsfield.org.au has information about the Beaconsfield Avenue of Honour, and all our WWI servicemen, The Honour Board, and the Cenotaph Memorial. The information from the Digital memorial can now be accessed from the website and provides information about the two world wars, the Shrine of Remembrance in Melbourne, and Beaconsfield Soldiers.
