Beaconsfield Railway Station today is at the end of Woods Street in Beaconsfield Avenue and has trains on the Pakenham line running to and from Melbourne.
Built in the 1880’s, the station was very busy and important to the town and surrounding area as a source for delivery of the mail and goods and also transporting timber and produce from the area to Melbourne. Many people travelled by train to the station where they were collected by horse and cart and taken to the local guest houses in Beaconsfield and Upper Beaconsfield, a popular holiday destination.
