Woods Street was named after John Woods who was the Railway Commissioner and was instrumental in working to get the Beaconsfield Railway Station which was vital to the area in the 1880’s. The wooden cottages in Woods Street date from 1910-1915 and make up one of the oldest group of houses in the Shire of Cardinia. They have been lovingly restored by their owners.
