George returned to Australia on the 22^ndAugust 1919. Discharged on the 7^thNovember 1919.

On the 13^thAugust 1918 George was wounded in action, a gunshot wound to the left forearm.

In June 1921 he requested his medals be posted to his father C/O Mr E Wright, Officer P.O., Victoria.

In 1923 George married Alice Myrtle Little.

In 1924 he was employed at a Butter Factory, Dandenong. Then in 1931 George lived at 71 Edwin Street, Heidelberg, employed as a gravedigger.

On the 19^th December 1958 he made application for war benefits under the Repatriation Act.

Died on the 7^thSeptember 1983 at Greensborough, Victoria.
