On the 23rd<\/sup>September 1918 Harry was admitted to hospital as he had been gassed. Returned to Australia on the 28th<\/sup> March 1919. Discharged on the 6th<\/sup>July 1919.<\/p>\n

On the 7th<\/sup>April 1928 Harry\u2019s wife writes to the War Office that Harry is missing his discharge papers. They were residing at 16 Chapel Street, West Melbourne.<\/p>\n

On the 15th<\/sup>May 1946 Harry Hutton, Cardinia Creek, Beaconsfield, writes requesting a replacement badge as he had lost his while out collecting wood.<\/p>\n

On the 28th<\/sup>April 1964 the following letter is sent from the Berwick RSL to the Army Records Section Melbourne.<\/p>\n

“Dear Sir,<\/em><\/p>\n

A 1914-1915 Star has been found and handed in to us. It bears the following inscription:- 3325; Pte H Hutton 6\/Bn AIF. I am told that this man lived for a time in Berwick and died here. Can you let me know if there are any next of kin to whom I can return the Medal?<\/em><\/p>\n

Hon Secretary.”<\/em><\/p>\n

The return letter requested the Star be mailed to the storeroom for safekeeping which it was on the 22nd<\/sup>May 1964.<\/p>\n

Died on the 7th<\/sup>May 1953.<\/p>\n

Buried on the 11th<\/sup>May 1953 at Berwick Cemetery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
