Buried in March 1946 at Guildford, Surrey, England<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Daily News<\/strong> (14<sup>th<\/sup>May 1915)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>&#8220;Among the passengers in transit by the Maloja, this week was Mr Edward Armytage, son of the late Oscar Armytage, of Melbourne, who is travelling to England to join the Officers Training Corps at Harrow preparatory to going to the front.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Colac Herald<\/strong> (10<sup>th<\/sup>July 1916 Winchelsea)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>&#8220;Word has been received in Winchelsea that Lieutenant Edward Oscar Armytage, of the Black Watch Regiment and the son of the late Mr Oscar Armytage, of Ingleby Station, has been seriously wounded in the recent heavy fighting on the Flanders front.&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>The Argus<\/strong> (10<sup>th<\/sup>May 1946) Mr Edward O Armytage.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>&#8220;The death occurred in England on March 13<sup>th<\/sup> of Mr Edward O Armytage, the Timbiens, Bramley, Surrey, England. He was the only son of Oscar F Armytage of Ingleby Station, Winchelsea, Victoria. He was educated at Harrow, and held a commission in the Black Watch and served in France during the First World War. In the Second World War he rejoined this regiment and became a Major serving in Egypt in GHQ. He was at El Alamein before and after the advance. Between the two wars he travelled extensively and while in Egypt he was decorated by the French Government for his interest in the revival of Aramaic Art.
